Don't mix oil types, the chemicals in the viscosity enhancers are not all compatible.  If you are paying over $9 a quart, I understand why you are looking for a change, I would too.

Its been pretty quiet so why not stir up things w/ the great oil debate ?   lol!!

It was time for an oil change.. so I went with Amsoil this time.. $9.50 a qt.. I hated spending $38. bucks for 4 qts of oil.  then another $14.00 for a K&N oil filter.    But I thought about it hard and actually thought about running some Diesel oil like Shell Rotella and mixing in some Lucas.. but by the time I'd do all that would only be saving about $15. So decided to stick with synthetic. Had been running Spectro Syn. Synthetic seems to run good in the twin cams and mine don't leak a drop with 40+ thousand miles on the clock.
