 Autolite plugs:

4164 - standard HD replacement for TC's
4163 - one range cooler
4162 - two ranges cooler

The new Autolites seem to have made my cold engine hesitations go away, something I had been blaming on the Mikuni.
Glad to hear it....

dont think so ,they used to be made in fostoria , a town about 18 miles from here , but i think they closed up and went overseas a few yrs, back. ps have always run HD plugs , never had a problem with them.
Think they have plants in SC and Conn.

I've stayed away from Champions for a long time. They're about the crappiest POS on the market.

Run the NKG in my Lawnmower. That was the OEM plug...

I run NGK plugs in all my bikes..........Haven't had a problem. If they'll fire a two stoke in oil they'll fire my Harley............

Autolites are my second choice but I avoid the platinums as the seem to run colder than the standards

I wouldn't run champions in my lawn mower....I think more of it than that............

I ran Autolites platinums in mine for a couple (maybe three) of years. Even as bad as the rear-cylinder was running, they held up really well. Every 6-months or so, it would start running crappy on the rear cylinder, I'd pull the plugs, clean 'em up and swap the front to the rear and the rear to the front.

When they rebuilt the engine, they put in Accel platinums in it...

jeffy ole boy wrote: No I run HD plugs too.....  Was the plug oily at all, or black sooty, or odd colored in any way?   It was obviously wet and black since it stopped firing, I just reached over and grabbed one of the old ones that was sitting on the tool box from last years swap. It's running fine. I brought the bad one to work and after hooking a power supply to it, I see it has probably broken down inside since the voltage drop is huge.  I started looking at platinum then remembered hearing that iridium is supposed to be the best. Just wondering if anyone else has tried them.   I'll probably pick up a set of Denso or NGK's on the way home.

The bike started acting cold blooded for the last week, then yesterday started only firing on one cylinder.  Bad plug on the back cylinder.  I'm not impressed, these plugs were only a year old.  Anyone run double platinum plugs?  I think I'm done with plugs from the stealer.
