I gotta say one more thing on the tranny lube subject... I have done this and believe me your tranny whether its a 4 or 5 speed will shift like butter.. Smoooooth.
That regular Lucas additive-- not the syn. but just the regular kind. Just add it full strength or mix it half and half with 75w 90 or whatever you normally run. My tranny holds 24 oz if I'm remembering right. The Lucas is thick but it flows really well in the heat-or even in the Wintertime like now it still will shift great.

Yup...Had them put in the 6 speed SE...All 04's came with 5 speeds...

Backcutting is the only real way to eliminate the "clunk"...Thicker oil will make it quieter...but not by much. I dont think the "thickness" makes a whole lot of difference these days. My P/U takes regular auto trans fluid in a manual gear case. I have ran the syn3 in the bike up until last year..and switched to the "HD Blend"...Not a real big difference IMHO

| fritz thats what i ran to , but they have discontinued it , now they say run the tranny primary fluid hd uses in the twinkies , and that shit looks pretty light to me.meby go with a 80- 90 lube like some of the guys suggested.

Lucas gear lube 80w90 is good and the price aint bad either about $8.bucks.. Get it at any auto part store......
In my opinion the twinkies shift alot better with heavier lube too......
