Empty, I think that falls into the same category as:
"If a man speaks in the forest and there is no woman there to tell him, is he still wrong?"
but: if I drop my scoot and no one sees me? unless I get a direct question, NOPE, aint never dropped it...leastways not when anyone was lookin'

RSDF Which begs the question: If ya dump yer bike and no one's lookin', did it really happen?

Preacher....got a 79 FXEF.....bought it new. Rebuilt it about a year or two ago now, back to stock except for a few small upgrades to the engine, Fireball cam, Dyna ignition, wiseco pistons, dual plug heads, black diamond valves, seats and guides.
Remember you advised me about dual plugging the heads and backing the timing off because I didn't need all the timing advance with the dual plugs? Well it worked out well....even hot with the thumb starter it starts right up.......
And yes it felt good to ride a "real motorcycle" there's just something about how the shovel feels and sounds when it's going down the highway......it's like that old pair of boots .....it just feels right.
And my ElectraGlide knees seem to work just fine on the kicker Thank you......the shovel is still easier to kick over than that old 61 iron head my brother has............
And BTW I remember now why you don't need a radio on a shovel head..........The bike is singing to you the whole time........LOL

| My first Harley was a '72 Ironhead back in '83. It was kick only and the only way I could get it started when it was cold was giver a shot of eether. Then id fire right up... as long as the motor was warm it kicked easy...

weasle, I think if you look in the American Old Biker Manual, under Section 3, Subsection B2, paragraph 5 it says something to the effect of:
"When biker achieves the age of 60, there shall be a "no shame" clause granted regarding the ownership and usage of auxiliary starting mechanisms, also know as electric starters. This is done to avoid the unpleasantness of having a crowd watch a greybeard trying to start a motorcycle by the standard and accepted method of manual ignition amplification. HOWEVER: if said greybeard's motorcycle is equipped with a manual ignition amplifier, and he fails to use it when there is no crowd, said clause shall be denied"
Section 3, Subsection B2, Paragraph 5
looking at that weasle, I think you are ok. Someplace in that manual is a section on HD's pandering to the wussy's who "gotta have an electric starter, whine whine whine" which makes another allowance for you not HAVING a kicker, but I couldnt find it...
