If your camera connects with USB, it should look like a "Drive" in the file manager. Nothing to install. Open your "File Explorer" and take a look, it may be there. If it is, then all ya gotta do is copy and paste the picture files into a folder somewhere. Basic editing can be done with the built in software for the image viewer...

I got a pretty new Dell here (Windows 8.1) and my Samsung phone opens a new window up when I connect it.

I haven't tried the camera yet. Hell, ain't used my camera in ages...

Do you have software for the camera ? If you do, simply install the software disc in your pc D: drive and let it start running it will prompt you for every step of the installation. Its easy really. But you gotta have the software disc that came with your camera.

I just replaced a motherboard and found my XP was tied to my old motherboard. I rebuilt the PC to learn that Microsoft would not allow me to replace the motherboard. They consider it a new computer. XP looks at the Bios and motherboard and considers it a pirate. I am out the cost of a new power supply and motherboard. I bought a Lenovo from Tiger Direct for $200 with Windows 8. No wonder Billy Gates is the richest guy on Earth.  At least my old Harley still burns pump gas. If anything has a chip in it, forget about long term ownership. My Dodge 2005 computer is not disabling my locks. I am sure the memory and the programs they embed will trigger nuisance stuff like my locks. I can pull a fuse, reinsert it, and the locks work for a week.

Anyway, soon everything will be preprogrammed to self disable. this is planned obsolescence in the highest degree.
