A German retiree is taking a hospital to court after she went in for a leg operation and got a new anus instead, the Daily Telegraph is reporting.

The woman woke up to find she had been mixed up with another patient suffering from incontinence who was to have surgery on her sphincter.

The clinic in Hochfranken, Bavaria, has since suspended the surgical team.

Now the woman is planning to sue the hospital. She still needs the leg operation and is searching for another hospital to do it.

Woman files lawsuit against AMR because passenger next to her masturbated while she slept

A 21-year-old Harris County woman filed a $200,000 lawsuit against American Airlines alleging employees on a flight to Los Angeles from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport failed to protect her while she slept from another passenger who masturbated to her and ejaculated in her hair, according to a lawsuit she filed last week in Tarrant County.
The Harris County woman alleges employees knew of the risks associated with failing to “police the passengers to ensure that passengers do not hurt one another,” the suit states.
Airline officials did not return calls seeking comment. In a statement to a Houston television station last year, a spokesman said the company regretted the incident, but the flight crew took appropriate action.
The woman and her lawyer could not be reached for comment. The Star-Telegram does not identify victims of sexual crimes.
Destined for a Spring Break visit with family and friends March 19, the woman flew from Houston to DFW Airport and had settled into her seat for the last leg of flight 2074 to Los Angeles about 11 p.m., the suit states. The woman slept most of the flight, but awoke about 20 minutes before landing when the pilot announced the plane was on descent into Los Angeles. When the woman opened her eyes, she saw that an unknown man had moved into the seat next to her and was staring at her as he masturbated, the suit states.
The woman turned toward the window in embarrassment and in an act of nervousness began to run her fingers through her hair where she noticed “a substantial amount of an extremely sticky substance in her hair,” the suit states.
The woman began to cry and tried to get the attention of a flight attendant, but was unsuccessful, the suit states. Finally a passenger in the row in front of the woman comforted her and verified the semen in her hair, the suit states.
When the plane landed, employee called airport police and the man was arrested.
The suit alleges that the during the investigation, American Airlines employees told police they witnessed the man move from his assigned seat into the row where the woman was sleeping.
The woman is seeking punitive damages and a jury trial.

`Redneck Shop' creates dispute in S.C.

By KATRINA A. GOGGINS
Associated Press Writer

LAURENS, S.C. (AP) -- A black civil rights activist is fighting to close a store that sells KKK robes and T-shirts emblazoned with racial slurs. David Kennedy is confident he can make it happen. After all, he says he owns the building.

Since 1996, the Redneck Shop has operated in an old movie theater that, according to court records, was transferred in 1997 to Kennedy and the Baptist church he leads.

"Our ownership puts an end to that history as far as violence and hatred, racism being practiced in that place and also the recruiting of the Klan," Kennedy said. "This is the same place that we had to go up into the balcony to go to the movies before the Klan took it. So there's a lot of history there."

But legal documents also indicate that the man who runs the store, 62-year-old John Howard, is entitled to operate his business in the building until he dies. Now the dispute may go to court.

Kennedy, 54, has led protests outside the store since it opened but said he's never been able to close it because of the agreement that Howard can run the shop for life.

The reverend envisions the building as a potential future home for his New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church, which now meets in a double-wide trailer.

Kennedy claims he can't even visit his own property because Howard won't let him in when he appears in the door. But that didn't happen during a recent visit with an Associated Press reporter and photographer.

"Reverend Kennedy, where you been hiding?" Howard shouted when the door opened.

Inside the store, hooded Klan robes hang on the same rack as the racist T-shirts. Pictures of men, women and children in Klan clothing and pamphlets tell a partial history of the organization.

Howard used to own the whole building. When his store first opened, he said, people threw rocks at his windows, spit in his doorway and picketed. A month later, a man intentionally crashed his van through the front windows.

"If anything turns people off, they shouldn't come in here. It's not a thing in here that's against the law," Howard said, adding that he was once the KKK's grand dragon for South Carolina and North Carolina.

To blacks, Kennedy said, the store is a reminder of this region's painful past, which includes the lynching of his great, great uncle by a white mob.

The town of Laurens, about 30 miles southeast of Greenville, was named after 18th century slave trader Henry Laurens.

Some street addresses are still marked with the letter "C" that once designated black homes as "colored." Racial tension was heightened in recent years when two white female teachers were sentenced for having sex with male students - all of them black.

Kennedy has a long history of fighting racial injustice. He protested when a South Carolina county refused to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and he helped lobby to remove the Confederate flag from the Statehouse dome.

When people in the region allege racism, he rallies attention to the cause. A walk through the neighborhood where he was born shows that he seems a stranger to no one.

"Hey Rev," one man says as he strolls by.

"Pump it up," Kennedy responds with the phrase he uses at his protests.

Mary Redd, who lives across from the house where Kennedy was born, said blacks know to contact the pastor with their problems.

"And he helps them out," added neighbor Deborah Cheeks.

Kennedy said progress has always been slow to come to Laurens.

"There are two powers in the world: the mind and the sword," he said. "In the long run, the sword is defeated by the mind. I want to destroy the concept of hatred."

Just another step in the pussification of America. Awhile back I posted a story about a local college campus that got their panties in a knot and did a lock down over a ROTC "Drill Rifle".

Got everyone scared to see anything that might resemble a gun.

They don't want us armed. Makes it tougher to keep us under control like a bunch of sheep...

In my opinion anybody that really really wants a gun will get one regardless of the law.  I think its a positive step if authorized staff of schools could carry guns to help stop a killing spree or a mad attacker.  Better than waiting on the police to show up,  usually too late,  the assailants fled , and people are left laying dead.

Okla. Lawmakers Approve Guns-On-Campus Bill
State Rep. Ray McCarter Says It's 'The Craziest Thing' He's Ever Seen

POSTED: 3:18 am PDT March 14, 2008
UPDATED: 3:20 am PDT March 14, 2008

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Lawmakers in Oklahoma are taking steps to allow people with specialized training to carry concealed weapons on college campuses.

A measure approved by the state House would authorize campus guns for people who've had special firearms training, including members of the military and honorably discharged veterans.

Supporters argue the measure would make campuses safer by putting guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

But given recent campus shootings around the nation, opponents have wasted no time registering objections.

State Rep. Ray McCarter called it "the craziest thing" he's ever seen, noting the campus-guns idea is also opposed by college administrators.

The measure now goes to the Oklahoma Senate.

Just to follow up on the Tanker issue I posted before. This is from one of our vice presidents. The one in charge of the Tanker Program...

Opposing view: Why we're protesting

Thu Mar 13, 12:21 AM ET

By Mark McGraw

Boeing has taken a rare step in its business interactions with one of its biggest military customers. The company has decided to protest the Air Force's decision to award a $35 billion air tanker contract to Northrop-EADS.

I would like to explain why Boeing has decided to protest. We have significant concerns about the Air Force evaluation process. Our concerns include several areas involving the capabilities of our aircraft, the cost and risk of both air tankers, and the evaluation of the bids. We left the debriefing with the Air Force with more questions than answers.

According to the Air Force, in the key category of capabilities, Boeing received the highest rating possible, met or exceeded all thresholds and objectives and was graded as having significantly more strengths than the competition.

But one key question we have: Why did the Air Force evaluators assign more value to our competitor's bigger tanker than to the smaller Boeing 767?

This is crucial because such evaluation criteria were not included in the bid specifications. If the Air Force was going to give credit beyond the requirements, it should have stated that and given Boeing the opportunity to propose a larger aircraft.

We provided unprecedented insight into Boeing Commercial Airplane cost data for the 767 aircraft. But we have significant questions about how the Air Force evaluated the commercial aspects of our proposal. At the top of the list: our concern about the unequal treatment in the evaluation of each competitor's cost information. The Air Force chose not to "trust" the information provided by Boeing — a single company with transparent financial systems and a proven production system. But it did trust the cost provided by Northrop and European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. and their unproven and multiple production methods.

We are a global company and compete every day in the global marketplace.

This decision to protest is so much more than questions of politics, subsidies and jobs. The issue for Boeing is about the fundamental fairness of the evaluation process and whether our proposal was given the same consideration as our competitor's.

Mark McGraw is vice president, Boeing Tanker Programs.

Kansas Police: Woman Pried From Boyfriend's Toilet After Sitting on It for 2 Years

WICHITA, Kan. —
Deputies say a woman in western Kansas became stuck on her boyfriend's toilet after sitting on it for two years.

Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

Whipple said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.

"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Whipple said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself."

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

"And her reply would be, `Maybe tomorrow,"' Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said.

She was taken to a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.

Police have declined to release the couple's names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number.

The case has been the buzz Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor.

"I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said.

Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there.

"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said of the bathroom incident. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."
